What Healing Is
When you think of healing, what comes to your mind?
When you label someone or judge them, what makes them fit that label?
Healing isn't focused on finger pointing and judgment. It's about the acceptance and acknowledgement of what's been done and understanding that it's an opportunity for transformative learning and growth for the parties involved.
The Ego’s Roles: Villian and Victim
In every healing journey it is critical to pause and reflect. One of the main reasons for reflection is to understand yourself and figure out which side of the ego you stand on.
Healing requires radical self-accountability.
If you find yourself in the role of the “villain”, reflect deeply on the wounds, fears, or defenses that drove you to act that way.
If you find yourself in the role of the “victim”, take accountability for the boundaries you failed to hold and the ways you allowed yourself to be treated.
Healing requires understanding that the fault may not always lies with the other party, but within your own shadow.
Defining Yourself
Therefore, always put pause on judgment and focus on truly figuring out your own situation first. Because ultimately, when you point a finger and judge another, you are not defining their character—you are only revealing and defining your own.
